Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama Collaboration

Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist known for her whimsical dot motif. On July 19th, just 2 days before her work opened in Whitney Museum (New York),  Kusama's signature dots appeared on everything from trench coats to jewelry in every Louis Vuitton store all over the States. All Louis Vuitton stores were decorated according to Kusama's dots.

After Marc Jacobs met Kusama in Tokyo in  2006, Louis Vuitton started providing financial backing for a retrospective of her work at London's Tate Modern Museum.
Marc Jacobs says about Kusama: "Her energy is just endless. For many people who don't look at art or go to galleries, or maybe they're not aware of Kusama's work, there will be a new venue, a new place to see this work and to come to appreciate it through the eyes of Louis Vuitton."
